ASHEVILLE – Mayor Esther Manheimer and President Joe Biden flew over the damage from Tropical Storm Helene to discuss rescue and recovery efforts as aide, and funding, continues to be pumped into Western North Carolina.
Along with North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper and FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell, who has been directed by the Biden Administration to stay in Asheville until the situation is stable, Manheimer and Biden flew in Marine One from the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, over Brevard and into Asheville, then flew towards Swannanoa and Black Mountain, Chimney Rock and Lake Lure, and finished over Columbus before heading back to Greenville.
