ASHEVILLE – More than 475 people gathered outside the U.S. Forest Service headquarters at 4 p.m. Aug. 1 in what Center of Biological Diversity scientist Will Harlan called a “last chance” effort to urge the federal agency to protect Pisgah and Nantahala national forests from increased logging.
