ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The City of Asheville interviewed candidates for the Reparations Commission on Tuesday. During the hours-long process, city council members heard from 18 applicants for the positions.
Asheville City Council hears from 18 applicants during Reparations Commission interviews
The Reparations Commission will be made up of 25 members — five will be appointed by the Asheville City Council and five will be appointed by the Buncombe County Commission.
“The remaining 15 representatives will be selected by the neighborhoods of areas with significant impact,” said Mayor Esther Manheimer.
